10 Years ago I would have laughed at anyone that even suggested the possibility of me fishing, let alone
LOVE fishing.
You see, I had never experienced fishing. The closest I ever got to the sport was when I was 9 years
old. I was running around playing, when all of a sudden I felt a major pain in my right hand. It seems a young
boy was casting his rod and landed his hook into my nuckle on my middle finger and it became embedded. With the
hook in the bone, it had to be cut out. Not one of my happiest memories and I still have the scar.
Although my mom took my daughters down to the lake fishing, I had no interest in participating. This all
changed 9 years ago when I met my now husband Andre.
He introduced me to fishing and I say he really got me hooked.
Fishing has been an amazing experience that has changed my life. When I realized that women had fallen
through the cracks when it came to fishing gear, I decided to make girls fishing rods. When I saw an opportunity to
help raise funds for Breast Cancer, the Pink Fishing Rod was created and I founded FisherGirl Inc.
I hope that through my website, I am able to give you some of my experiences, whether they are good
bad or just plain funny.
Fishing has given me it all. I hope that you will also send me your stories about your most memorable moments,
those of you that fish fully understand those times.
I know that I have never had so many amazing times in my life. Each experience that I go out on has
a moment that makes me realize how fortunate I am to have found this sport.
I call fishing my Hydrotherapy for the Soul. I hope that you have the chance to experience it
